I have lived in NC for a month and a half now, I have had no success with getting a job. Although I do have a small monthly income from my early retirement from my job. Less than 1000 dollars though, I have also taken custody of my 2 grand daughters. So you know my income is not sufficient. I have been to some interviews but has gotten no response back from anyone. I seriously think there is a lot of age discrimination going on here. But I just... see more
Things don't always go as planned especially when it's a big day! My car started overheating the night before the interview. No way was i going to cancel an #interview as those are few and far between for me. I checked google maps and saw the location is 9 miles away. Luckily for me i still had a bicycle in the garage. I brought a few bottles of water and my interview clothes in a bag so they would not get sweaty. I found a bathroom a couple... see more

BTW my name is Barry. I am 73 years old on Social Security and HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK.
Just retired as Psych Teacher and am not ready to spend my days on the couch in front of the TV, except for sports. Would love to do some substitute teaching or tutoring.
Recently retired. Would recommend it. Keeping my name out there! Thanks.

The quality of drivers are not as courteous and not as professional as before. The reason is the Electronic logs and the rate of pay have been reduced. The amount of training required to obtain a CDL has dropped. I would to get back on the road but the body say I’m too old.
I may seek a local dispatcher position in Houston area.
At 62 ,I understand the age thing all to well. I’m working a job that I like until management starts making it difficult to do your job effectively. Or their obvious favoritism shuts the rest of out of a position that opens up. I have been on a few interviews, attempting to better my situation but, no luck. The second I make eye contact you can tell they aren’t interested. But you go through the motions anyway. Can’t retire. I’m paying student... see more
