I was driving back home around 3 in the morning and I had not seen my family for over 4 weeks so I decided to take a short cut through some pretty isolated back roads that I didn’t know too well. It was literally in the middle of NOWHERE but I figured if it got me home faster it would be worth it.

So I get to this part of the road with all of these old creepy trees on the side. I hadn't seen a house or anything in hours, it was just miles and... see more

There are many strange things in this world! I can certainly believe it; Maybe it was a brief intersection with... see more

Trucking has changed so much since I retired back in 2003. The quality of drivers are not as courteous and not as professional as before. The reason is the Electronic logs and the rate of pay have been reduced. The amount of training required to obtain a CDL has dropped. I would to get back on the road but the body say I’m too old.
I may seek a local dispatcher position in Houston area.

When you do that get in touch with me and we will be two older women on the road together, ok be sure to contact... see more

Hey, all! I am working on a project - an app for truckers to connect and share day-to-day work stuff. Worth pursuing? And if yes, what would be some cool features to add?

That's something I always wanted to do, be a truck driver. Amen

Many of you have heard about the Celadon Bankruptcy situation that has affected over 3,000 drivers across the country. The Indianapolis-based company has left thousands of employees jobless right before the holidays, leaving many drivers stranded mid-route.

As more of this scheme gets unraveled, it becomes more obvious that the situation is more convoluted than it once seemed.

Curious to hear your thoughts about this...

I just started trucking to help pay off some of my loans. I like it more than I thought I would, but recently my girl asked me to stop. She says I don't spend enough time with her anymore. She said to pick my job or her, that's messed up! I like making money, I NEED it! I feel like I am screwed either way here, but should I keep the girl or the job?

As far as you making a big decision I would say this everyone needs a job jobs are so hard to come by I would... see more

Hey everyone - what's the single best piece of advice you can give to a newbie trucker? I've been asking around and love to hear everyone's thoughts. Thanks!

Don't ever drive your truck into an area or jobsite where you can't back out the way you went in. Also if you drive... see more

Keep an eye on them springs. The company says they have a good maintenance schedule to catch these problems and there have been two trucks that had broken springs. One was in a turn and caused a rollover.

Last week after passing the scale I was pulled over for a DOT inspection. Figured it was routine when the officer asked if could see the inside of my truck. I got nothing to hide so I said sure. I was not carrying anything I shouldn't, but all of a sudden he starts rifling through my stuff and finds a large plastic cooking knife that was next to a spatula and some seasonings under my seat. I have a microwave in the back and sometimes I cook stuff... see more

Not true... probable cause will do it...but that has to be proven
